ROKETSAN Introduced Four New Systems at SAHA 2026
ROKETSAN presented four new systems to the public for the first time at the SAHA EXPO 2026 fair. Among the systems introduced was a new-generation munition concept based on an approach to neutralisation other than explosive effect.
A portfolio diversification strategy
The company’s launches on the trade fair calendar reflect an approach of spreading its missile and munitions portfolio across different mission profiles rather than concentrating it in a single class. ROKETSAN’s existing portfolio ranges from anti-ship and cruise missiles to air defence missiles, and from smart munitions to rocket systems. The new systems aim to add further mission options to that range.
Reducing collateral damage
Munition concepts that do not rely on explosive effect, or that concentrate their effect within a limited area, have been an internationally studied field in recent years. Such solutions come up particularly in operations close to populated areas and in scenarios where infrastructure targets are to be temporarily disabled. Company officials emphasised that such systems may be preferred in missions requiring precision and the minimisation of collateral damage.
Why SAHA EXPO is the stage
SAHA EXPO is one of the broadly attended fairs that also covers the subcontractor network of Turkish defence industry. Prime contractors introducing new products at such events brings both domestic supply chain cooperation opportunities and contacts with foreign delegations into the same calendar. Fair launches therefore function as an export marketing instrument as well as a product announcement.
The company’s scale
ROKETSAN is ranked fifth with 69.5 points in international missile manufacturer rankings. The company’s exports exceeded 750 million dollars in 2024. On the anti-ship missile ATMACA, orders have passed 500 units. This picture shows that the new system launches come not from a portfolio stuck at prototype level but from an infrastructure with serial production and export experience.
The distance between a launch and the inventory
Systems introduced at fairs enter service only after design verification, qualification testing and user acceptance processes are completed. In munitions programmes this can extend over several years depending on system complexity. Limited disclosure of technical parameters at the launch stage also narrows the scope for independent assessment.
Assessment
The introduction of four new systems shows that ROKETSAN’s product development tempo continues. The operational significance of these systems will nonetheless become clear according to test results announced in the period ahead and any user orders. In assessing the launches, the qualification steps of the following months will be more decisive than the fair announcements themselves.
